yogarunnermother

I am a passionate yogini and runner sharing my adventures of raising a son while living a simple and healthy lifestyle.

Moving and changing

The last time we did a really big move was when Lucas was 4 months old and that was across state. This time it is only across town but nonetheless seems ever so challenging with a toddler.

But there is something that I love about moving. I have moved over 20 times. I have moved for school, work, relationships, travel or simply the desire to begin new. I don’t like clutter so rarely feel I own too many things but I enjoy new experiences and never feel I am running away, but rather embracing change.

It is fun for me to go through my books, all my yoga training materials, running books, medals, my novels, Lucas’s newborn things we are keeping and cleaning, art I have collected over the years. All of these are mental, physical and emotional activities that bring clarity for me. I don’t keep a lot but what I do hold onto is sentimental to say the least. My life has been filled with so much joy, chunks of adversity and bewilderment and other times when my necessity for exploration was top priority. And with all of it came memories that I truly treasure, even if at the time, my decisions seemed rather obscure. Our lives really are interesting and reflecting on every aspect is something that is important to me.

It has been a year of a lot of growth. This year was my year to race a lot. I ran multiple half marathons, one full marathon, one 10k and I have a half marathon in December to finish 2017. Next year our focus will be a little different and the journey will for sure be just as exciting. Eric will probably race more (cycling) and I will be investing more in yoga and in integrative health coaching, with some other surprises thrown in, including adventures outside.

Long story short, we are moving and so December will be wonderfully busy🎄✨.
