Feeling our creativity

“Instructions for living a life.

Pay attention.

Be astonished.

Tell about it”.

-Mary Oliver

I first stepped onto my yoga mat in college, almost in an act of desperation, as I so badly wanted to feel my passion, my creativity, my inner desire to share and experience life fully, while releasing the clutter that was preventing me from opening up.

From that day on I stepped onto my mat over and over and over again and fell deeply in love with the practice of yoga. It is a connection, a challenging connection at times, a joyful connection, a humble experience always.

Our passions are deep within the center of our being and our creativity comes from recognizing those passions and pursuing them. “Pay attention”, Oliver says. I cannot think of anything better than doing just that.

Creativity stemmed from passion is magnetic to me. Looking at art or watching the Olympics, or seeing a dance performance or reading an amazing novel. All of these come from people practicing what they love and sharing it with the world. It is courageous and healing the more people can explore and follow their dreams.

And as a community we have the opportunity to nourish and encourage creativity. It is my vision with this blog to be part of the community and to offer my passions in hopes that it will help others reflect on what brings them joy. If is life changing and has shifted my perspective of myself and the entire world. Connection is simple and truly sacred.
