When I first started thinking about writing this blog, I was about 3 months postpartum and at the heart of sleepless nights, full time nursing, cooking almost every night, just getting back into yoga and running, and yet feeling a little lost. I had all these emotions within me and for some reason, even with yoga and running, I did not feel like I was able to fully express the fears that were happening as I began motherhood. It can be lonely at times and not enough sleep adds to the loneliness. But as I became more comfortable with having an infant in the house and establishing a routine (kind of😉), I realized that what was missing was my favorite form of communication: writing. After all, I was writing in my head on all my runs and thinking about posts while cooking and felt ready to embrace the art of blogging. So, here I am at almost 17 months postpartum finally doing it.
I imagine there will be some experimentation when it comes to deciding exactly what I want to focus on. But for now, here are my priorities and what I am passionate about and what I think will be fascinating to readers: Motherhood (the pretty, the not so pretty, and all the craziness in between), yoga (poses, sequences, my philosophy, how it helps me, teaching) relationships, and running (long distance, running with Lucas, races and how it compliments yoga). I will also probably throw in some food and recipes because it plays such an important role in the above activities and helps fuel my passions.
My main theme in all the posts will likely be simplicity. As I have gotten older and now have a child, it is so apparent to me how much minimizing the clutter in our heads, home, and life in general is the key to sustaining a more joyful life. Less stuff means we have so much more time to be outside, climbing mountains, running on trails, doing yoga, reading a great book, spending time with family and just worrying less. It is a liberating feeling decluttering and opens up time for new adventures. I am excited for this journey and would love to hear from you. What types of posts would you like to see and read? What helps you experience more in this life? Is there anything you really want to do but fear?

Excited to see what you post! I’m inspired by your approach to simplicity and decluttering! I feel so overwhelmed by stuff in our house, but I feel like I don’t have time to do anything about it! 😬 Looking forward to peaking into your thoughts! 😘 Xoxo
